Title: Kubernetes Engineer

Location: Remote


Job Summary:

Rackner is looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to join an existing team of DevOps and Cloud Engineers who are building out reusable Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, to be deployed in a large enterprise environment. The engineer should have experience in advanced Kubernetes patterns (blue/green updates, stateful workloads, writing custom controllers) in order to contribute to this existing DevOps and cloud architecture.


Essential Functions:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced Kubernetes solutions
  • Communicating these solutions in a professional way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborating with other engineers and members of the team using tools like git, in a secure, effective and scalable way

Requirements

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a plus


Requisite Skills/Abilities:

  • Highly experienced with Docker & Containers
  • Advanced Kubernetes experience
  • Istio expertise
  • GitOps (FluxCD, ArgoCD)
  • Custom Helm charts
  • Custom Controllers
  • Custom CRD
  • Top notch Linux skills
  • SRE experience for a mid to large enterprise system
  • General cloud architecture experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with building Kubernetes Operators a plus
  • General DevOps Experience a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and basic coding skills in Java, Python, Go, C++ or a similar language are desirable, as is experience with microservices architectures
  • Software Engineering background is nice to have
